FAQ

What is the Visa Bulletin?

A monthly State Department notice that lists, for every green card category and chargeability country, the cutoff date. You are “current” when your priority date (PD) is earlier than the cutoff.

What are the EB-2 and EB-3 dates for China and India in November 2026?

Final Action Dates: EB-2 China 01 Oct 2021, EB-2 India 01 Nov 2013, EB-3 China 22 Jan 2022, EB-3 India 22 Jan 2014, EB-2 Rest of World 01 Apr 2025.

What is the difference between Final Action Dates and Dates for Filing?

Final Action Dates (FAD) decide when a green card can be approved; Dates for Filing (DFF) are earlier and decide when you can submit an I-485 or send documents to NVC.

How do I know if my priority date is current?

Pick your category and chargeability country in “My case” above and enter your priority date (from your I-797 receipt or approval notice). You’ll see where you stand on both charts, how far behind you are, and a rough estimate based on past movement.

How is my chargeability country decided?

By country of birth, not citizenship. People born in Taiwan or Hong Kong are charged to Rest of World; a spouse can sometimes use the other spouse’s country (cross-chargeability).

When does the next bulletin come out?

Usually mid-month, for the following month. This site checks the State Department daily and updates automatically; you can also get a monthly email.

Not legal advice

Dates are copied from the U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin and may contain parsing errors. Always check the official bulletin and talk to an immigration attorney before making decisions. Forecasts are naive extrapolations, not predictions.
